Bar Silo – Supporting Local Creativity and Rural Enterprise

We are pleased to have secured planning permission for the conversion of an existing agricultural building to provide new facilities for Bar Silo, a much-loved rural music venue, together with small-scale visitor accommodation to support its growing programme of events.

The approved proposals include:

• a kitchen and rest area for performing artists

• a small outdoor terrace

• a cluster of sensitively designed glamping pods

• an associated facilities building

• landscaping and layout improvements to integrate the development with its rural setting

These enhancements will significantly improve the experience for both performers and visitors while helping to safeguard the venue’s long-term future. Bar Silo has become an important part of the local creative scene, hosting live music and seasonal events that bring people together and celebrate rural culture.

This project is a strong example of how thoughtful, small-scale development can support local enterprise, cultural activity and sustainable rural tourism, all while maintaining the distinctive character of the surrounding landscape.
