The event was a great success and we are now looking to hold two more events in 2018. These events will focus on:

  • General Neighbourhood Planning Drop-in Session
  • Policy Drafting Event

To show your interest in either of these events please send your details to who will be happy to let you know more information.

New Funding Available for Neighbourhood Plans

A new support programme available from the 3rd of April & Situ8 are here to help!

At last, the long awaited announcement by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, Dominic Raab MP confirming a £23 million fund, being delivered by Locality and Groundwork, to help communities develop a neighbourhood plan, which will be available from 3rd April 2018.

At first glance the new support programme is very similar to the current programme, which ends on 31st March 2018.   The Basic Grant a community can apply for is up to £9000, with eligibility for additional support (up to an extra £8000) narrowing in places.  There remains the option for Technical Support for groups facing complex issues e.g. allocating sites for housing.

A new website has been launched which provides further details about the programme:

In addition, a really useful document produced by Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government: “ Notes on Neighbourhood Planning Edition 20, March 2018” not only confirms the 2015-2018 grant programme but draws attention to the proposed changes to the National Planning Policy Framework in respect of neighbourhood plans (these changes have been published for consultation).

Here at Situ8, we are committed to helping neighbourhood plan groups achieve their ambitions.  Providing specialist planning advice and support.

Jo is currently working with a group in East Devon to draft their Basic Conditions Statement and has a wealth of experience in community engagement and pulling together ‘issues and options’, writing planning policy, reviewing draft plans and advising generally on the legal requirements.

Jo is always available for a quick chat, to discuss how she and her colleagues at Situ8 can help a group progress with their plan making.
