Planning permission was sought for the construction of a contemporary two storey dwelling-house. Two bedroom accommodation is proposed over two levels. The development utilises the land that is currently occupied by a pitched roof, large single garage (4 car spaces) building and it is at this level that there will be a bedroom with en-suite and a utility area. The remaining accommodation over containing the living area, kitchen/dining, bathroom and second bedroom.
The two bedroom property as proposed is of a contemporary form and will make full use of open plan living and have some sea views from the site. Obscure glazed panels will be provided to the eastern end of the first floor balcony to ameliorate any ‘overlooking’. The garage space will be retained in the development.
Materials have been carefully chosen by the applicant and include the following:
- White painted rendered walls
- Triple glazed colour bonded aluminium doors and windows.
- Windows set back a minimum of 100mm from face of building
- Sedum green roof
